star Announcing the Fallen Heroes Wall of Honor. Adams 12 Five Star Schools and the Thornton Veterans Memorial Foundation team up to provide special place of honor for Adams 12 graduates who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Adams 12 Five Star Schools and the Thornton Veterans Memorial Foundation (TVMF) are working together to provide special recognition for graduates of Adams 12 who were Killed in Action (KIA).   We desire to establish this special wall as a place of recognition so that “their contributions may never be forgotten.”  The Fallen Heroes Wall of Honor will become a part of our community as a tribute for all of our Adams 12 fallen heroes, past and future.

This project is a joint effort between the Thornton Veterans Memorial Foundation and Adams 12 Five Star Schools.  The Thornton Veterans Memorial and the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center will be located together in the City of Thornton’s Trailwinds Park at 5310 East 136th Avenue, just west of Holly Street.

Information regarding those students from Adams 12 who made the ultimate sacrifice - those who were Killed in Action - is being gathered in order to establish the veterans that will be recognized and honored for being the fallen heroes they are to our community and our nation.

Fallen Heroes Wall of HonorKilled in Action (KIA) is defined as death occurring as a direct result of wounds from hostile action and being the recipient of the Purple Heart.  Submissions will be considered on a case by case basis and the final determination for recognition will be at the sole discretion of Adams 12 and TVMF.

We need certifiable information such as student records of those who graduated from the Adams 12 school system and that are recorded in military service as being Killed in Action while serving in any of the five branches of our U.S. military service – Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy.

Persons having the information requested above and who have apparent authority to provide such information should provided it as soon as possible as planning of a proper tribute is in process and construction of the aquatic center has already begun.  Send the information to:  adams12fallenheroes@thorntonveteransmemorial.org .   Those providing the information need to provide their complete contact information.

If you have any questions about the Fallen Heroes Wall of Honor, please email adams12fallenheroes@thorntonveteransmemorial.org or call (303) 563-7046.
