February 16 , 2007 - Thornton Veterans Memorial Receives Wal-Mart Community Grant. The Thornton Veterans Memorial accepted a $1,000 grant from Wal-Mart through their Community Grant Program. Dave Bennett, Store Manager for Wal-Mart store #1231, and Kathy Grossman, the store's Community Involvement Coordinator made the presetation. Jim Branaugh (Vice Chairman), Greg Banks (Architect), and Bob Heller (Member at Large) accepted the grant on behalf of the Foundation. We thank Wal-Mart for recognizing the importance of the memorial project and sincerely appreciate their contribution.
